What if no learners show up to my Bootcamp?
What if no learners show up to my Bootcamp?
Updated yesterday

If learners signed up for your bootcamp and no one shows up:

We're sorry you had this experience! We know it can be frustrating to do all of the prep work to publish a series only to have no learners show up. Here's what we recommend:

  1. Bump the Group Chat: First, send a message in the group chat to remind your learners about the session.

    1. Sample message: "Hi everyone! A friendly reminder that our Bootcamp just started! Please join us :) "

  2. Keep Zoom room open: Wait in the Zoom room for 15 minutes in case learners are just running late.

  3. After 15 minutes: If no one shows up for the session after 15 minutes, you can close the session. Then, use the group chat to share the Session Makeup Guide with your learners and encourage them to join the next session.

    1. Sample message: "Hi everyone! For those of you who weren't able to join today, please follow the Session Makeup Guide to complete today's lesson. I look forward to seeing you in our next session on <insert date/time>. If you are unable to attend, please remember to submit an excused absence to provide us with a heads-up."

If you have two sessions in a row with no attendance:

We're sorry you had this experience! If you have two sessions in a row with no attendance, then we recommend that you end your series early:

  1. Send a message to the group chat, letting your learners know you are ending the series.

    1. Sample message: "Hi everyone! Since no one has attended the last two sessions, Schoolhouse policy suggests canceling this Bootcamp. If you still need support, you can get your questions answered in the SAT Prep Subworld. Wishing you all the best with your studying!"

  2. End series: Navigate to the Series page for your Bootcamp, click "Edit Series" and then "End Series Early."

Here are some other options if you'd still like to tutor:

  1. Try out the SAT Prep Subworld: Consider helping learners in the SAT Prep Subworld instead! You can answer questions in the Help channels (Math, R&W) or host a session here.

  2. Try again in the future: There can be some seasonal variation in learner demand, so we encourage you to try publishing a Bootcamp again in a future SAT Bootcamp cycle.
